Are you expecting a miracle? Are you in need of healing or material provision? Have you been expecting a breakthrough? Maybe a job, car or even money?
My charge to you this morning is to prepare for abundance.
Most often we limit God by our way of preparation. We say “since the car is not coming, let me settle for a motorcycle”.
“Oh God”. You’d say, “I’m not asking for much. I only need $5.”
You’ve to stop thinking like the world. Think and expect like a Child of God.
Our earthly fathers give according to their ability. A poor man’s son would expect little from his Dad, while the rich man’s soon believes he can get whatever he desires.
You’re better than the rich man’s son. Your father has this to say “I am the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?” The answer is NO!.
Remember the story of the poor widow? Her husband died and left her with a huge debt, then the creditors came to take her sons. This widow ran to the prophet for help. “what do you have?” The prophet asked. “nothing but a pot of oil” replied the woman tearfully.
Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few” 2kings 4:3
In other words, Elisha was saying “woman, don’t try to limit God’s hands, go and prepare for abundance. Don’t borrow few. None of your neighbors must be left with an empty jar. Borrow all.”
Keep in mind that the borrowing time for this widow was her preparation time. The hand of God waits till you are prepared before he send the blessings.
What are you doing with your preparation time? Are you borrowing more empty jars or you’ve quit borrowing? Soon, preparation time will be over.
Then God will say: “go in and shut the door behind yourself” (2kings 4:5). You ask why? Because its time for blessings to rain.
You can’t be preparing and receiving at the same time. It doesn’t work that way. It is either one or the other.
“When the vessels were all full, she said to her son, Bring me another vessel. And he said to her, There is not a one left. Then the oil stopped multiplying” (2kings 4:6).
The oil stopped multiplying when there was no empty jar left. God told Abraham count the stars. Abraham lost count. The blessings where to much. When it comes to God always dream big.
In Malachi he promised to open the “windows of heaven”. One version says “the floodgates of heaven”. Glory.
Expect a flood of blessings. Don’t settle for rain or showers. If you’re expecting a flood, what would you do? Keep the place tidy. Create space for abundance.
THE NET WAS NOT TORN
Don’t say “I don’t deserve this. No. It is too much for me.” Keep that spirit out and saY, “I deserve the best. I’m God’s child. I am seated with Christ in heavenly places and blessed with all spiritual blessings.” Glory.
Some folks are scared of asking for more, thinking abundance may suffocate them. The scripture has this to say:
“So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, 153 of them. And although there were so many, the net was not torn.” John21:11
Jesus worked a miracle for the disciples after a night of fruitless efforts. There was abundance.
Did peter say ” oh no. The fishes are too much. Jesus, let me throw some back into the river?” No. He didn’t. Instead he summoned strength and “dragged the net ashore.”
Sometimes that’s all you need. Stop feeling inferior. Summon courage and strength, jump into that flood of blessing and drag it ashore. Drag the blessing into your family, business and education. Everywhere.
Remember: your preparation can limit God’s hands. He’s got flood ready for you. Prepare for abundance. Your lack is over.
Prepare by believing, praying and expecting.
All glory belongs to Jesus
