SOWING SPIRIT

Each New Year gives you the opportunity to sow a seed where you failed to do so or did very little the previous year. It’s a chance to plant seeds of love, happiness, patience, kindness, forgiveness, friendship, hope and love. Sowing or investing is the second point we’ll be discussing today in continuance of the power of a new year.

There are many areas you can sow, but I’ll show you only three because they are the most important. These three have the capacity to give you a new turn;

PRAYER:

Prayer means to have a relationship with God. Nothing comes cheap from heaven except through prayer. In her book ‘The power of simple prayer’ Joyce Meyer said that “prayer opens the door for God to work. As we partner with God in the spiritual realm through prayer, we bring things out of that realm into our lives, into the world, into our society, and into the lives of other people.” The more time you spend with God leads to an improved change in your life and that of the people you care about.

This New Year; pray like never before. “Never stop praying” (1 THES. 5:17 NLT). You must invest heavily in prayer because it is the channel – besides studying the word – you can know what God is saying about your personal everyday life, family, friends, and business. Prayer should become a way of living conceived out of the abundance of love for God. Keep this in mind always, there’s a thirst and hunger in your soul – a vacuum – and only a relationship with God can fill it.

PEOPLE:

Until you learn how to invest in people, your relevance will remain negligible. At any given opportunity try to see and bring the best in people. Your friends should see the need of being around you; because they feel better when they are with you. Be a source of hope, love and encouragement to others. You’ll be doing yourself a big favor; people with bad emotions will not be found much around you because you left them better than you met them.
I have come to understand that the key to giving people a better life is to firstly love them; subsequently they will open up to your knowledge. John C. Maxwell puts it this way, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
Investing in persons you may or may not know defines Service of Love. It’s required of us all. Build relationships that will make people look up to you, push you up, pull you up and help you stand.

 SELF:

God has blessed every human being with a gift (Eph. 1:3). There’s energy inside you; a force that can turn your life around forever. This force is a dynamic one, working in you till you become effectual and productive.
You can direct this force into your talent, skill, profession and business. You can make your passion work out. This best gift you can invest here is time. Keep on training. Prepare like tomorrow will never come. “Neglect not your gift” (1 Tim. 4:14). You must work to fulfill God’s purpose for your life. Secret preparation develops you for public success. The more time you spend practicing, the greater your chances of success.

“A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.” (Prov. 18:6 NIV)
“Do you see a person skilled in his work? He will take his position before kings; He will not take His position before obscure people.” (Prov. 22:29 NET).

Today you learned that this new year you can invest in Prayer, People and Self.
